Your body as the perfect compass

Close your eyes and point with one arm towards the north based on your feelings'

Together with 10 other participants we stand with our eyes closed and point (or so we hope) to the north. Then the facilitator asks someone; now take the average of all people. The wisdom of the crowd turns out to be my arm, and it turns out that it faces directly north.

Where do your talents, potential and passion come together? Do you also wonder what your passion actually is? And if skiing is your passion, how do you translate that into your professional life and your purpose? We live in a society where we increasingly want to understand, want to know from memory. We search to pieces but cannot find it.

 

Your body and your inner world work like a compass
We search, we search for the perfect form, the perfect role or job and we sometimes forget to see what is right in front of us. That ideal spot, that dot on the horizon – perhaps we have been there for some time. But many people often feel lost. We create a certain picture from our minds and then damn; It turns out not to be as fun as you expected. We are much more than just our thoughts, because we also have a body with physical sensations and an emotional experience. To clarify what your purpose is, it will help you to gain more awareness of what you feel, a connection with your body and not from your head.

Internal expedition
Sometimes your purpose seems very far away, while all you have to do is look inside, not outside. Because it is already within you, an inner knowing with a capital W. However, if you want to make this tangible, space must be made in our fast lives. Space to remember, space to feel and let go of limiting beliefs. No phone for a while, no distractions for a while, not feeling obliged for a while, just stand still and slow down. There is no short cut. We often want to rush towards an end goal with blinders on. Challenge yourself to explore the entire mountain landscape and learn through play. It is important not to be concerned with the future, not to be concerned with looking for a life purpose. But to live in the “now”, to accept what is.

The impact of nature
If we immerse ourselves in nature long enough, the 'three-day effect' works according to D. Strayer. Our brain is not a tireless machine, but it can quickly become exhausted. When we take it easy and relax in a piece of beautiful nature, our brain has time to rest and contact with nature creates a different brain frequency. I recently spent 3 weeks immersed in the nature of Northern Spain and Andorra. I wanted adventure and was curious about the impact of immersion. Calming the brain made me experience differently. My senses became sharper, I started to smell differently, hear more sharply and I started to feel rawer, more pure. Nature is a purifier! I feel more connected to myself, feel the life energy flowing. Looking at the snow-capped peaks and a flowing river, I feel deep inside my purpose, “purposeful motion”. The direction and form follow automatically.

Discovering new territory
